52 Projects – Freelensing

A while back, I bought a book to give me some inspiration for my photography.

I picked it up on Amazon here.  At the beginning of this year, I started working through projects.  One of the projects was taking a low-key portrait of a flower.  I ended up spending several months shooting only flowers!

So, now I am picking it back up. For this post, I am going to share a couple of photos from my freelensing project.

The idea is pretty simple – you simply detach your lens from your DSLR mount, hold it in front of the ring mount.  As you move the lens around and take photos, you get some neat blurring effects.

You can see that that by titling the camera, the focal plane is adjusted and gives some fun blurring.

I tinkered around with several subjects, but this project really did not excite me like other projects.

On to the next!
